It will be on a cold night - with the darkness, it will bring along, feeling so pleasant after a gray and dull day - when two famous lovers engage in a conversation again, that you'll be able to hear them talk.
A brief shout starts it all: "I'm here darling!"
"You came at last!"
"How could I not, for I love you."
"I know, silly me."
"Are you crying? Please don't. Let us be cheerful and enjoy the night."
"It's just.. I can feel your burning desire for me and your warm heart walking down my spine."
"Don't you like that then?"
"No, not that! I do! I love you my dearest... I can't bear losing you and I know I'd be useless without you. But I'm afraid my heart is too weak and my tears too easy to come when you are nearby... oh forgive me!"
"Darling you know I can't live without you! You are what keeps me alive and makes me shine! If this love is not meant to be, then nothing is and we shall die together!"

Cheating & Demons and puppies

So, today I will present you an interview with sir Neko and miss Amelia. The topic is cheating and I hope you will enjoy it:

1) What comes to your mind, when I say the word cheating?
Neko: Dishonesty
Amelia: Lies

2) How great of a sin can dishonesty or cheating be depending on the context?
Neko: Cheating in a relationship gives you nothing. Cheating in a game or in a test gives you also nothing, because you didn't earn the good mark or the win.
Amelia: It depends. Cheating in a game isn't something that horrible, but it doesn't give you anything. Cheating in a relationship makes one think it's just sad that time was lost playing hiding and seek and covering things up, when the truth would have been so much better.

3) Is there something you could describe as you most successful cheat?
Neko: Maybe lying to myself, making myself forget things I actually know.
Amelia: None that I can think of...

4) If beautiful lies exist, then does beautiful cheating exist as well?
Neko: If you do it elaborately, if you think it all through then a cheat can be beautiful.
Amelia: No, I don't think so.

5) Would you be a likely unveiler of a cheat?
Neko: It depends on the cheat entirely.
Amelia: It certainly does depend, but in a relationship it's often best to warn the cheater first without creating a mess.

6) Can cheating be an honorable or an admirable skill?
Neko: Yes to both, at least some times. And if you can't consider a masterful cheater skillful then maybe you are just a lousy cheater.
Amelia: Admirable yes, honorable no. And it definitely can be considered a great skill.

Here's a comparison of demons and puppies for you:

Puppies fetch sticks and balls - Demons fetch you!
Puppies smell when they are wet - Demons do not!
Puppies are cuddly - Demons are hot!
Puppies yelp and howl - Demons howl, growl, hiss, scream, whisper and talk!
Puppies use the pet door - Demons come through windows and do fancy stuff!
Puppies drool and slobber - Demons talk dirty!
Puppies pee on the floor - Demons are evil as well!
Puppies chew on your belongings - Demons eat your soul!
Puppies are cute - Demons don't care, they can shapeshift!

So that's the puppy for you!
Should have asked your mum for a demon instead!

Is it not just kinky? & The riddles

"The Teapot Song", commonly known as "I'm a little teapot", is a song describing the heating and pouring of a teapot. The song was originally written by George Harry Sanders and Clarence Kelley and published in 1939. It was written to the tune of Adel ist ein lieber.
Though many variations have arisen over the years, the original lyrics are as follows (dance motions in parenthesis):

First verse:

I'm a little teapot,
Short and stout,
Here is my handle (one hand on hip),
Here is my spout (other arm out with elbow and wrist bent),
When I get all steamed up,
Hear me shout,
Tip me over and pour me out! (lean over toward spout)

Second verse:

I'm a very special teapot,
Yes, it's true,
Here's an example of what I can do,
I can turn my handle into a spout (exchange hand positions),
Tip me over and pour me out! (lean over toward spout)

There's one thing you should know... the last letters of the second and last word from the gaped riddle will be concealed more efficiently than before - that means I won't spell those numbers in capital letter anymore. Other concealing methods might be taken into use as well. Like in the previous post... good luck then^^

Victory & From the depths of hell

It was on a cold yet sun-bright morning that the diabolic earl Dominic and the angelic princess Angelica were found laying on the bare seashore - naked, bound in chains, drowned...
A local painter was quick to react and long before the lovers' lifeless bodies were ordered removed - he was there, drowned in work like the fiend and the angel were drowned in the sea. The sight of him in act was mesmerizing - whoever dared to close in on him, to observe that morbid process, his disgraceful act, must have witnessed as well the two lovers come to life in paint again. The vivid expression of love beyond death, the dance of light and emotion twirling within the boundless realm of the painter's grace made the small crowd blush even. Not because they felt they were not honoring the dead, but for the sheer shamefulness that would have been witnessing an act of love usually kept private.
By the evening the shore was as clean as late Angelica's heart had once been, but the air and the minds of all locals were tainted with a devilish presence much like Dominic's. All what had happened was bound to be never forgotten even if the cause of their deaths remained unknown forever. So who is the true victor of that tragic affair, the mysterious murderer or the artist? Is not the murderer the real artist?

To the moon and back & Some chore it is...

It was on a mild and foggy day that lord Loneliness and lady Caring were found, almost like sitting, on the bench in the evergreen park near the graveyard, stripped of everything: of their clothes, their dignity and even of their life - they were dead.
"Oh my...", the people thought, "What happened, what caused this?"
The answer remains unknown, but one may think...
Crowds who had gathered to witness this spectacle scattered after a while, yet they never really left behind the presumed morbid and twisted events of the late day - as had died Mr. Yesterday, the two disgraceful souls had died as well. And people spoke their minds quite clearly:
"I am absolutely certain of it! That good for nothing lord Loneliness was at fault. One just can't trust such suspicious gloomy men."
"Oh give it a rest Rupert, it's not like he would 'ave approached lady Carin' willingly, now is it?. You do know 'ery well how hes like..."
"You made a very good point there lady Bright. If I may say so however, I can't help but think that lord Loneliness stayed with her that night for some reason."
"Nonsense! He must have killed 'er! And himself as well!"
"I beg your pardon but I'm afraid I will have to disagree with that statement. The cause of their death has yet to be discovered. Thus far it seems they died of natural causes, even if it is highly unlikely."
"I bet he couldn't stand his gloomy ways any longer and snapped! Dragged that poor girl right with him."
"It certainly is an interesting speculation..."
"Now hol' on, hold on you two! Don't you see? Ol' fellow Loneliness was in love wih 'er. He'd have gone to the moon and back for his lovely lady Carin'."
"Well, ain't that so? Wouldn't 'ave thought that of em."
"I wonder how he handled himself. Imagine all that. Deep down he longed for lady Caring's graceful soul to warm him. He must have loathed himself for even thinking that way. And the young lady can't help it either, can she? What a pair..."

Keeping one's surroundings clean is a matter of aesthetics. It is very practical and cleanses not only the surroundings, but the soul as well. Anyway, it's just ONE thing, that I think can be done with delight rather than with the burden of tediousness.
That's what I thought I'd like to share with you... nothing much behind it besides the hidden final letter of the first part of the riddle-sentence.

Way of the snake & Others and their colours

By popular demand, or not really popular but by a lady's request rather - here's a short riddle:

T..H..G..N..O..L..E..H
S...E..S..H..O..R..T..E
W.O..R..G..E..H..S..R

The title says it all... find the sentence.. it starts with the coloured IN A... and ends with ...OWS.
And the hidden sentence is the real riddle... Read the sentence and think: What is it?
Write your answer as a response to the post^^

Did you know there are THIRTEEN times two letters in the English alphabet? 13 x 2 is a total of twenty six letters. Various combinations can be made using these letters and some of these combinations make up given names. And even though this whole post is actually just a big hint for solving the fill-the-gaps-riddle, why not name some random names I like as well? These are not all common English names by the way...
Anastasia, Beth, Caius, Dominic, Elisabeth, Felix, Gabriel, Heather, Irina, Judy, Karmen, Lolita, Michelle, Nikita, Owen, Pierre, Quentin, Raphael, Saskia, Tifa, Ursula, Victor, Willow, Xenia, Yumiko, Zero...
Sometimes my posts are just nonsense^^

Creative murder & From the depths of the mind

Once in the middle of the night a noise could be heard in the cupboard. What could that have been?
Well, let me tell you.
It was little Teacup, who had awakened alone in the dark. All his little brothers and sisters were sound asleep and his mother - she had died a while ago falling from the table. And it wasn't until the night after he was adopted by a new teapot, who was very different from his real mother, that he began thinking about all that had changed in his life.
Hear little Teacup's monologue:

"My mum used to say death is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you get...
I like chocolate^^ yum yum!"

That was all that little teacup could manage and he fell asleep again. He liked the feeling of sweet chocolate milk poured into him and no thought, however grim, could change that fact. And so he lived on with his sisters and brothers and his substitute mother, never understanding what death was like, or life, or if his mother's death was an accident, suicide or murder.
____________________________________________________________________

Maybe you have already discovered, but the first letters of the new headlines form "Tmc...". This tells you that no sentence is hidden there - at least in the same manner, but I'll reveal the fact that there are actually two sentences hidden in the titles this time. Well it's just two... imagine if there were EIGHTEEN sentences hidden. But it's not 18, but two. So good luck finding them, and the solutions to the other riddles as well.
And regarding the first warm-up riddle - think spirally.

Most people end up dying & Learn your limits

Me: So Death, umm, I was wondering... My grandfather died some time ago and I didn't quite understand what the deal was...
Death: You are saying?
Me: Well.. like why would you take Him?
Death: I did not!
Me:Yeah you did, he's like... dead!
Death: Oh fine, I'll look it up... Gimme a sec... Oh, right.. yes. You see, that fatal cancer of his was what killed him. And my job is just to take the ones who's time is up.
Me: So... you are like an errand boy for the Fate spinners?
Death: Pardon?
Me: Hey, I'm just saying that, from what I've heard, they have a special lady for that. The one who cuts the threads of life every now and then... I think Atropos was her name. Like, do you work for her?
Death: No comments-.-
Me: So anyway do you know if is it true that most people end up dying? Because I think that this Atropos lady is pretty mean.
Death: Yo kid! Everybody dies! Get that through your skull!
Me: Whah, for real? lol That means you will have to commit suicide some day.
Death: No!
Me: Oh... but they do call you the reapist, do they not? Because it sounds a lot lik...
Death: It's The Reaper, not Reapist, you insolent little bastard.
Me: So if you are not a sexual offender, would you like to reap me then?
Death: No! It's not your time.
Me: Oh, come on... My granddad looked awesome in his coffin! I couldn't stand him when he was alive, but his funeral was hilarious... and he looked his best ever!
Death: You're sick.. just sick.
Me: But I like pale and cold people with make-up! ........................................... Death?
Death: I'm busy!
Me: Fine, go play with.. a duck! Or something...

By the way, I really mean what I said in that dialogue. So if you don't mind, dear readers, then please make sure you die.^^ And if you do, then you should be put to view in an open coffin. I don't mean like right now, but... you know. Thanks!
____________________________________________________________________

ONE thing that bothers me a bit is tact. I believe I have some, but as a matter or fact I am often too strikingly honest about my not so modest ways of thinking. And sinking with stones in my pockets I put there myself, or sticking my fingers into sockets is what this leads to. Yet this is what feeds you, or your interest in this blog rather. And this is ONE good way to learn some limits..
That was a pretty neat rhymed text, was it not? I wonder how you think of death. Are there some morale norms that should be kept? I fail to see the reason behind some of these. It's not like I don't like the people close to me. But to grieve the loss of one? It's beyond me... the simple comprehending of this... great loss.

The first four riddles & Some hatred is just nonsense

Quite independently from whatever ways of reaction or style of speech You - the reader - would use, I have come up with a dialogue between us. Am I not terrible?^^ Starting off by putting words in your mouth you didn't want in there:

Me: Hello to you, dear reader!
You: Hello from me as well to a sir who is all mean.
Me: Oh, you know me by my anagram?
You: I certainly do for it has been your signature for quite some time now, has it not?
Me: Yes it has. And by the way: an average little hillock supports a total of ELEVEN sheep on it.
You: Pardon?
Me: 11 sheep... fit on a hillock.
You: Is this some sort of a riddle?
Me: It is indeed, but it's quite obscured at the moment. You will have to wait a number of posts after which you can then fill in the blanks in the following sentence: _ _ _ _ _ is _ _ _ _ _ _!
You: Hm... alright.
Me: And here's a little something to warm you up:

N..S..E...T..O..M
O..A..C..A..B..Y
P"M.W.R..R...N
S...E..T...I...E".E
E...R..A..S..A..X
.!...T...S..O..P...T

Do note, that the dots were inserted just to align the letters neatly.
____________________________________________________________________

I understand my great dislike towards rude and ill-mannered people is normal: A day ago I was forced to share public space with two young kids who were constantly spitting all over the place. With great skill and speed they let their saliva fly here and there - even in the middle of a sentence without stopping - until a staggering amount of ground was covered. I am pretty sure they even practice doing it until a high level of proficiency. I'm not sure, but I think its the side effect of smoking - bad taste in one's mouth. In addition they used quite a lot of expletives which I recognized from all that horribly pronounced Russian they used. I don't speak the language but I could tell they were doing it wrong.
Coming back to the actual topic, here is something what cannot be hated at least logically: That is the weather. Well it can be hated actually like any other lifeless object or entity, but it's not like it bears any fault. And moreover, when someone accidentally brakes his or her toe against an unexpected chair in the dark, then it's common to swear or smack the chair to calm down. But you can't smack the rain can you? Or the sun in my case. As the proverb goes: There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes. So is it safe to say that it is psychologically more healthy for one to separate his or her emotions from the phenomenon that is weather? I think so, yet I frown or complain whenever I see the sun some out.

Macabre songs I sing & Dreadfully I gaze from the fire

1st part
Macabre songs I sing

Dear readers,

As I already declared a few posts ago this post, with its heading combined from letters of all previous posts, will be the conclusion and the end of all what I have written and shared with you earlier in the blog. How shall I proceed then? I will change the style a bit but you can read more about that in the 2nd part of this post called “Dreadfully I gaze from the fire”. Maybe you want to try guessing what it will be about?
As for the first part I want to start by explaining why I chose this title. It all comes down to one thing and one thing only which is the infamous Danse Macabre of course. As you all probably know it is the Dance of Death or a dance with Death to explain it more figuratively. It is a late-medieval allegory that reminds people how fragile their lives really are and what one must face sooner or later – that is death. It is a dance which there is no hiding from, for Death shows no mercy however rich, famous, important, pretty or pure one may be.
In the most part I focused on revealing, with absolute honesty, parts of myself and the thoughts I have every now and then. I gave you my viewpoints on various matters and idolized beauty a lot. Some poetic lines where included and even one actual poem “Do you not hate poetry?” which I wrote not a very long time before I started blogging. Bits of interesting trivia and mythology, which I used in hope of making the blog more enchanting and interesting, were a central part. And also some riddles for you my dear readers were hidden in there.
So why do I sing macabre songs? Conclusively an immense amount of details about me were revealed in these, I hope beautifully written, lines and even more between them. The very idea itself of me writing such things about myself shows a lot. It shows, without the need of me pointing them out as I did anyway, that I am vain, superficial, conservative, unfair, nonchalant, proud and a lot more negative. Negative is the key word here, for I never actually committed to making me seem that way. I just wrote what I’ve come to know about myself and my view of the world and hoped it would be dark enough for you – just for the dramatic effect of course. I turned all what is negative about me to something what could be described as sinister merits and added all the good things and some talents of mine on top of that. And one major part of that blog was indeed the exhibition of my person as if it was Art. I recited myself to you as I would recite poetry hoping you’d like what you hear and grow interested in the process.
When I started writing, which I did for honouring the almost threateningly requesting suggestion of an adorable and beautiful ballerina, I had the impression that blogging would not work out for me and that I’d run out of thoughts after a week or so. Gladly and surprisingly I am still writing and I have also developed a personal demand for readers. I like writing a lot and knowing that others appreciate my efforts makes it much better. But I guess I would have to become more popular with people beforehand if I wanted to increase the number of my readers. I also hope I will keep my thoughts fresh and interesting all along, because nobody wants to read a boring blog.
True gems of thoughts however are rare no matter how hard I try and naturally there are not many, at least this far, if there are any at all. I guess, for I actually don’t know, that I am no great philosopher in reality, even if do I like to grope in these dim pastures of thoughts. I also like to think I am able to learn things about other people and read them by observing. As I pointed out in “Darksome games” however, anyone can do it. So what about these gems? Are there any? I sincerely hope so, but it’s up to you to make a decision on that matter.
One post I myself came to like a lot was “Under my watch”. I think it says a lot about me in many ways, be the revealed details merits or demerits. It‘s a really sweet post in my opinion.
Other favourites of mine, which say a lot, are: “Lacklustre eyes”, “Oni wa uchi” and “I believe in perfection”. And “A short story” is also one of my cheerful favourites.

I hope you liked what I’ve presented to you this far and now, if I may suggest, you can feel free to scroll down to start reading the second part called: “Dreadfully I gaze from the fire”.

2nd part
Dreadfully I gaze from the fire

Dear readers,

I can only guess how tired you may or my not be reading these oh-so-similarly written posts which’s wording and sentence construction is not as variable as it might be. Are you tired of seeing piles of I-s, Me-s, rather-s and all these tag-questions? Maybe you are but I guess I’ll still carry on using them here or there.
Coming to the point of “Dreadfully I gaze from the fire” I will now start introducing what I have in mind for the upcoming posts. If at some point you find that you preferred to read what I wrote like before the change and the new style doesn’t suit your taste then I recommend, or insist rather, that you notify me of that, for I’d only love to improve on whatever I’m doing and even more on things I do for others. Take your time deciding on that and really, please take part in what I have to offer and let me share this experience with you.
That sounded hilariously cheesy, did it not?
So…firstly, I’d like you to meet the handsome Mr. Personification, who is now a good friend of mine and who will accompany me whenever I visit Lady Writing. And do note that one of Lady Writing’s daughters is Miss Poetry, whom I’ve already introduced to you earlier. Basically I will try making some posts more vigorous and cheerful by making characters out of some random things - objects, emotions, and out of generalisations even.
Secondly, and this will absolutely wonderfully fit together with personification, I will write more dialogues. When I first wrote one in this blog I immediately thought that it was a really fun thing to do and I should definitely write more of those. I think five, which is the amount of dialogues in the blog so far, is definitively too few. The application of dialogues will open up many windows of creativeness and also help introduce various viewpoints all at once. I hope I’ll manage integrating various personalities to the characters I am going to bring to life and make their phrases meaningful as well.
Thirdly, and this also will very well complement the two previous style changes, I have in mind writing situation simulations or little role-plays. I want to bring into being: awkward situations, common ones we deal with all day, lovable moments with lovable personifications as characters and unimaginably radical stories with fittingly radical characters who most likely will argue over some philosophical matters. I am not sure how this all sounds to you or if you like the sound of it, but to me it seems to be a really good idea - at least at this point in time. And by the way, if you dislike long-winded texts like this one then it is about time I told you to bear with me a little longer for it’s almost over.
Coming to the fourth and last change then, it will not be a change actually - at least not as much as the previous ones were. It will be more like an increase of the amount of riddles and hidden messages. Most likely I will end up regretting I said that though, because conjuring riddles constantly and planning the hidden messages will be a difficult task. Maybe its better I just give you the awareness of the possible existence of these hidden messages and not promise I’ll hide something in every post. But keep in mind that I will definitely try thinking of some every time and moreover, I plan on praising or rewarding successful puzzle-solvers. I do not know if you have trust in my artistic skills, but does a little landscape painting seem to be a worthy present for the bright and attentive who visit my blog? At least I hope I can make this blog more interesting and interactive this way.
Finally I think I should say something about the heading “Dreadfully I gaze from the fire”. Why dreadfully, and why from the fire? You could ask also what I’m gazing at. Well I didn’t have any very specific meanings to back that up at first, but gradually I managed to decide on what I want to say with this sentence. The dreadful gaze is criticism quite naturally, but the things, subject to that gaze, are maybe some general viewpoints that I can integrate with my personification-characters’ dialogues, but mostly myself. I won’t just start expressing my hate towards everything and myself, for I think no one would like to read that, but what I think I can do, is ridicule or slightly reprobate different things. And about the fire – it’s just there for the dramatic effect. But it also expresses the same idea of gazing dreadfully at something quite perfectly, for a dreadful gaze burns like fire.

That’s it and I hope you liked it. Look forward to my next post and be prepared to find some clues which will, within a single post or in many combined, form a secret message again.

Embrace your children & Metagaming

By now you must already know I am a bit twisted in my head and I recognize you as a twisted person as well, for you must be, if you are reading this blog.
Anyway, did the first heading seem a bit off the line to you? Embrace your children - doesn't it sound too sweet and lovely to have been written by me? Well, I think you should anyway. Please do embrace your children if you happen to have any at some point in time. They say it helps developing their confidence or something.
What I really meant by that phrase however, was that you should value the little peculiarities and ideas that you have. I know you are totally weird! So never hide it unless it's better for everybody if you do - because I still am in favour of conservatism as you know... But even if you have to obscure your weirdness - never lose it. Keep it close to you, make it your slave and be its slave in return. Make it the essence of your specialness and mindset. Embrace the crooked, dark, insane, mindless and manic side of yourself.

Last, but not least, here I introduce to you how I view metagaming. Metagaming is a broad term usually used to define any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game. Another definition refers to the game universe outside of the game itself. As you may know this can be called cheating as well. It is pretty easy to cheat in almost any game. But I don't want to encourage anyone to do so.
In other environments - which is hardly an accurate statement for metagaming is a truly broad term - like relationships or the environment of reading a book, metagaming still exists. If you, for example, have to read a book - course reading - and you already know some details of the story by external means like searching for a summary on the Internet or asking someone else to enlighten you on that matter, then you engage in metgaming. If you are knowledgeable of the effects of some chemical substances, and a someone tries to cure you with placebos - which you know do not actually work - and it ends up not working, then you also have engaged in metagaming. So as you see - often knowing too much is regarded as cheating. Peculiar, is it not?

Rococo & Early-game

The glorious, ornate, immensely decorative style called Rococo and also referred to as "Late Baroque" developed in the 18th century as Baroque artists gave up their symmetry and became increasingly more ornate, florid, and playful. Rococo rooms were designed as all-embracing works of art with elegant and ornate furniture, small sculptures, ornamental mirrors, and tapestry complementing architecture, reliefs, and wall paintings. I can't even describe how much I am in love with it...
All but one thing is absolutely perfect in this room decorating style - which would be the selection of colours. They used mild light pastel tones too often and hardly any dark ones. I still adore the beige and cream rooms to no end, but how fancy could it be with darker, deeper colours: ruby red, emerald green, amethyst purple, obsidian black? I love the contrast of white and black in this example.

Steinhausen, Pilgrimage Church by Dominidus Zimmerman

Continuing with the early-game and leaving, to be last on the line, something called metagaming I have to say to you the following: The early game is always the best, the most interesting, the most lovable part of them all. Like I said in "Gruesome truth's" ending lines:

"I like games and teasing... elongating the threshold... building up tension. I like Those moments... "Are you ready for the first kiss?... no, not yet... later.. hold on.. all the beauty of waiting...
enjoy it."

This is me, or anyone else, playing the early-game and loving it. No, I'm no Casanova... I couldn't. But there is magic in the air whenever I find or start something new, be it a relationship, a game, a book, the process of drinking tea... everything really. And you too should just enjoy the moment and never fear, for fear will ruin the magic. The beginning is always for trying and taking risks. I wish I had had such courage all my life... the courage to trust myself... and take the steps I want to take. I confess I still sometimes hesitate, but not too often anymore.

Ideas that mean a lot & Mid-game

Surely, surely you have seen a seen a banner with "Find out what your name tells about you" or "Where does your name come from" written on it. Most likely you ridiculed these in your mind. Maybe there is a deeper connection through astronomical amounts of choices and variables that lead to your name being chosen, but in the end it's just the product of the one's mind that named you, which then again states quite clearly that your name does not say anything about you, but a great deal about your name-giver rather. It says so much because this choice usually means a lot in any cultural context, even if it does so in an extremely obscured way. Angelica - is it related to faith maybe or to high hopes of raising an angelic child? Is it the name of the name-giver's own mother and does it then tell us it's obedience to rules and habits or the valuing of traditions rather? A lot of times some simple reason like learning about Angelica in biology or listening to Anathema's "Angelica" can be found. Yet again some more sophisticated deeply psychological analyzes could derive something from the phonetics of the word or from something on the visual basis. I've never actually liked my name and it kind of hurts whenever I meet someone whose name I like. Maybe it's even another factor that makes me want to believe there is something special about the bearer of a beautiful name.

The mid-game is the part I never like, or rarely rather. There's nothing new, nothing too old and all options, but the ones which are strictly linked to another part of the 'game', are open. It's too late now to set the rules as you like, for that was done in the early-game. Any changes you submit to or create have to be gradual and consistent with what was set to be true earlier. Putting it bluntly it's like saying "I want to eat an apple five minutes ago" and then realizing you can not do so for the simple reason that it's too late for that. Mostly any abruptness seems out of place or is unimaginable at that stage so you must have patience to sit trough that long-winded part of the game. If indeed you are dealing with an actual game, then it's best to go through the most important details that should be kept in mind and scanning the system and the game's current state for windows of opportunities and the like. If it's a relationship or anything else with no particular target in mind then I recommend you keep going as you are always...
Some things like reading a book are made simple throughout all the phases by constantly making it interesting, but mostly you just have to bear through whatever you are doing and try not loosing focus.

Fall & Pregame

Autumn, also known as fall or harvest is, by all means, my favourite season closely followed by the very similar season we call spring. What are the general merits of it that people like? It's not too hot nor too cold... it's colourful... anything else? Well notwithstanding the avalanches of complaints everybody spills at me for liking what I like, I tend to prefer the gray, hazy, dull city with pouring rain... over the sun and what not.
Also, when it's cold, people start wearing many-layered outfits and pretty coats which I like to watch. It is by far better than having to look at shirtless males, wearing short trousers, or over-tanned females, with hardly anything to cover their sun-harassed skin. If one likes darkening one's skin that much, then maybe one should go bake a cake somewhere - watch it's crust darken - and then compare oneself with that pastry thingy.

The pregame, which is also directly linked to every aspect of your life, is what I like to call: The fun-ish part for the funnest part is the early game of course. As for the pregame however, lot of thinking, predicting and preparing is involved. Many stick with what they are used to doing before meeting someone new or when they are starting something. Maybe that's best in most situations. Any way, nervousness likes to creep up onto the stage at this point. "Will I manage? How will they react? Have I practiced enough?"
Or maybe you are the type that likes to speculate and are in favour of gathering information about every last detail, after what you are likely to devote some time on thinking and analyzing? I certainly like doing things this way. The questions I frequently ask are: "What if...? How about...? If... then what...?" And it is not just about the preparative ability but about thinking in general - it keeps you mentally fit.
May your angle of approach be the former or latter or something completely different even - the main point is to keep your calm and take a position you are comfortable with from the start. First impressions count a lot they say and I think I agree. But I wont say one should make sure everything is perfect once the 'game' starts, for that would develop into being a source of misconception later on. Thus you should simply try being perfect all the time...

Endgame & Beat that

In any game, in life, in development in general there is a phase, which can be called the end game, which comes after the pre-, early and mid game respectively. Actually I'd like to go over all these phases at some point in time, for I think an analysis on a topic as interesting as this, for it covers the very essence of one's viewpoint and angle of approach, is key to understanding the foundations behind one's reasoning and foretelling possible actions one might take. But maybe I'll just let you think your own thoughts on that - or not... I mean you still can, but I still have four posts after this one to talk about these.
The endgame - where many are tired, where the outcome is almost certain, where interest is lost, guard let down, mind closed, things forgot. If dealing with something opposing as with an opponent in a game of chess or a rival or just someone who one doesn't like this is the time to be the most cautious. Everything still depends on the system, but commonly now's the time for some last effort and recklessness after what a quick disappearance saves from your anger. If dealing with friends or other positively aligned entities now comes the point where everything has calmed down and one can be sure nothing unexpected will turn up... really? Well be careful you don't rely on that too much.. one must keep an open mind to reduce the change of finding oneself in a situation where someone will get hurt, be it mentally or physically. There are so many thoughts on that topic that cross my mind...
I'll just let it be as it is for now.

The chainsaw is a pest. It is a furiously loud, malevolently stinking and violent instrument of... music and massacre?
It is also commonly used to fell trees and cut them. As it appears I am now a chainsaw murderer of some sort, for I've taken into the extreme an old habit of mine... spider killing that is. I must admit I felt a bit satisfied doing so, killing something via violent means... but at that point I might already been under the influence of petrol fumes. Moreover, it was just a spider so there is nothing much to it, is there? Besides the dexterity that is needed to strike a fast spider.

Hold thy tongue & Identity

If you know not what to say...
If you cannot ask for the way...
If you lack the manners...
If you hold not control over your mind...
Thou shalt hold thy tongue at bay!

If you are too smart for your own good...
If your mouth is full of food...
If you lack the intelligence...
If you haven't made up your mind...
Thou shalt hold thy tongue at bay!

If your voice you cannot trust to sound...
If you talk in expletives knowing no bounds...
If you lack the confidence...
If you are out of your mind...
Thou shalt hold thy tongue at bay!

It is often good to not talk at all. After all - speaking is silver and silence is gold (this saying is based on the value of these metals, not on their beauty). Speaking is a necessity however and thus much care should be put in speaking correctly - something I often fail to do. Nevertheless, some rules are to be kept and no way of reasoning should make you think otherwise. Sure, I might not remember the correct words, or I might construct a sentence as it's done in the English language rather than in Estonian. But I always value manners and make silence do the talking. Silence speaks very well on its own.

Who are we and what describes us most? To whom are we ourselves and to whom just parts of the complete picture that is us? Is it the actions we take that build up the very image of ourselves, or the things we say rather? It's both, I know, and much more in addition. But what interests me most at the moment is how 'being' can be a form of art and how this art is made.
It is up to us to choose what we show of ourselves and what we hide. But hiding can be a difficult task in a room with a dozen windows. Moreover, as art is built on equilibrium, it's all too easy to let all that hiding you do throw everything off balance. When you conserve sadness for example you could end up bursting into tears at some point in time. Common, is it not? It may not always be best trying to shape oneself to extreme extents, but what have we to lose?
Nothing, nothing at all...

Tea & Whispering

Do you do research on the foods and drinks you consume? Not just for avoiding those disgusting fatty and greasy products, but to learn the culture and methods behind creating it?
There's much interesting about tea to learn:

Tea leaves contain more than 700 chemicals, among which the compounds closely related to human health are flavanoides, amino acids, vitamins (C, E and K), caffeine and polysaccharides. Moreover, tea drinking has recently proven to be associated with cell-mediated immune function of the human body. Tea plays an important role in improving beneficial intestinal microflora, as well as providing immunity against intestinal disorders and in protecting cell membranes from oxidative damage. Tea also prevents dental caries due to the presence of fluorine. The role of tea is well established in normalizing blood pressure, lipid depressing activity, prevention of coronary heart diseases and diabetes by reducing the blood-glucose activity. Tea also possesses germicidal and germistatic activities against various gram-positive and gram negative human pathogenic bacteria. Both green and black tea infusions contain a number of antioxidants, mainly catechins that have anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic and anti-tumoric properties.

Unfortunately I understand hardly anything of this...

Whispering - it is well used in songs, gives a certain feeling to text and allows adding immensely variable subtleties or nuances of meaning to any utterance. French whispering is especially deadly, by which I mean I'm dying to hear that. By the way...
Does anyone else think the phrase "Je t'adore", which means "I adore you", sounds somewhat similar to "Shut the door?"

My wish reviewed & The secret message

"Why bother about times which lay far ahead with the present, so eminently, at hand and the future uncertain? Why?..."
I am still not worried nor have I thought about my future.
"Years ago I decided I'd strive for beauty in life - beauty in others, in me, in affairs, in everything. What we seek, we lack, don't we?"
I don't lack beauty anymore actually- I have found some in others, in me, in affairs, in everything - but I still want more.
Am I greedy?
Will I ever stop longing for more? A kingdom for beauty! (for beauty is better than a horse)
"Yet nothing do I lack more than one thing I've never had but once."
I still lack it. Does it change my behaviour? Would the newest members of the group "People I have met" have seen me differently if only I had been shot with an arrow a while ago?
I guess so...

Dear reader,

The second time it was now that I had to use an "M" to start the headline with. So I decided I would use "My wish" again. Maybe I've told you, or you have figured out - the first letters of each headline's first part combine into a headline as well. This is why I had to write a post with the "&" only... to separate the two parts of the secret headline. When I started writing and laid into place the first "M", I also decided I'd go ahead and spell something out of these starting letters: My wish, A day to go, Cantus firmus, All for one, Born an heir, Ravishingly kind and Elysian times... Yes... "Macabre" was done.
Now I've written quite a lot in addition to that and the headline is almost complete. And a good seven or eight posts from now, when it's done, I'll use the headline to write a longer post than usual. I hope it's worth the wait and that I'll come up with something interesting for you to read.

May god be with you,

A sir all mean

One way to go & Nuances

Dreadful, dreadful indeed are the stories from some children's books. Books with stories of evil fairies, with tales of witches and demons, with burning death and horrifying men... Do you know Heinrich Hoffman's "Struwwelpeter"? Shock-headed Peter's the English title. It was by far my most favourite book when I was younger and I still remember it... I wonder why.
Infamous for it's dark appearance and dark ways to teach morale to children, it has been criticized to no end. But its sort-of unique dark humour made it a success on Broadway and many people love it, for it has scared its way to many minds of the world, including mine.

Snip! Snap! Snip! the scissors go;
And Conrad cries out - Oh! Oh! Oh!
Snip! Snap! Snip! They go so fast;
That both his thumbs are off at last.

I've already expressed my opinion on people who ruin their imago with one very false move or decision or with a single unsightly detail. But that nuances-thing works the other way around equally well...
Have you ever seen an ugly duckling with something so mesmerizing about it that you can't help but forget all its faultiness? And what's more - sometimes you'll just end up liking not what you are used to, but the very same deviations from your imagined model of perfection you are used to despise. Of course being the horrible person that I am, I would never forgive chubbiness for example, but anything else - I could, I think. That old man in the bus, if you remember... What I liked about him was his wretched appearance, his closeness to lifelessness. Even that can be appealing...
Although maybe it's a general thing I like? Weakness, frailty, and porcelain dolls...

Recklessness is a virtue & Carnival of the daemons: Medusa

How often do you take risks? If you are smart, then never. It is always best to take into account every possible outcome of any situation and act accordingly. So generally the more you think the less you have to risk. But there is something alluring about risky business, is there not? The thrill or anxiety it brings forth is grand and there is much to be won from engaging some risks from time to time. My suggestion is: "Do it whenever you can". It does not happen often you find yourself in a situation where you can freely choose from among various drastic solutions. The results of your actions are usually important enough to avoid taking any risks. But risk you must, at least if you don't want to miss out on something what I consider very important, and thus it's a good idea to use the freedom you have within a cohesive group of friends or in innocent games and practice taking risks. The more you are ready to loose, the more you will be able to achieve. But in the end it's not about winning or losing - rather about the skill itself.

In Greek mythology Medusa was a Gorgon, a chthonic female monster, and a daughter of Phorcys and Ceto; Only Hyginus, interposes a generation and gives another chthonic pair as parents of Medusa; gazing directly upon her would turn onlookers to stone. She was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used her head as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity the image of the head of Medusa appeared in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion.

False lustre & Carnival of the daemons: Rusalka

No one seems smaller than they really are but greater instead, because the cultivated observers observe everything about a subject, as if it was one compound entity rather than a collection of different aspects and false lustre. People are never, can never be, dismissed of being subject to influences and other people's doings. It is actually a prerequisite for a developed and learned mind to engage a copying effect. Yet at some point the shower turns into a bath, the breeze into strong gust of wind. It is common to surround oneself with art or work done by someone else. It's just a way to create and show our personalities, our ways of life, our souls if you want... However we should never take credit for showing who we are if the outcome of doing so is based solely on the work of others. I may be only wanting to show artworks of great artists as a subject of great interest and beauty, but at the same time I also seem to engage a reflecting mechanism of some sort by which's functioning I take hold of some of the artworks merits as parts of myself. Don't be fooled then - beautiful surroundings do not garnish nor tarnish me in reality. They do however change what you can observe...
...a thought about jewellery and art this seems to have been... or of personas?

In Slavic mythology, a rusalka was a female ghost, water nymph, succubus or mermaid-like demon that dwelled in a waterway. According to most traditions, the rusalki were fish-women, who lived at the bottom of rivers. In the middle of the night, they would walk out to the bank and dance in meadows. If they saw handsome men, they would fascinate them with songs and dancing, mesmerize them, then lead the man away to the river floor to his death. The stories about rusalki have parallels with those of Hylas and the Nymphs, the Germanic Nix, the Irish Banshee, the Scottish Bean Nighe and the Romanian Iele.

Endless naivety & Carnival of the daemons: Lilith

It seems the sophisticated arts of deception and charlatanism have been around forever and will never disappear no matter what. All hail P.T. Barnum. Some people just refuse to disbelieve the acts of communicating with spirits, possession and exorcism, psychics which is commonly done with simple cold-reading and all such things.
Not a very long time ago one of these TV psychic mediums, a really famous one, was caught successfully with a set-up and his fraud was unveiled. He didn't just use cold-reading but radio-transmitted hints via an earpiece as well. Yet even today, I think, he continues on, talking to people's late relatives and asking money for doing so.

Lilith is a character in Jewish mythology, found earliest in the Babylonian Talmud, which is generally thought to be related to a class of female demons in Mesopotamian texts. However, Lowell K. Handy (1997) notes that "Very little information has been found relating to the Akkadian and Babylonian view of these demons. Two sources of information, the Gilgamesh appendix and the Arshlan-Tash amulets, previously used to define Lilith are both suspect."

In Jewish folklore, from the 8th-10th Century Alphabet of Ben Sira onwards Lilith becomes Adam's first wife, who was created at the same time and from the same earth as Adam. This legend was greatly developed during the Middle Ages, in the tradition of Aggadic midrashim, the Zohar and Jewish mysticism. In the 13th Century writings of Rabbi Isaac ben Jacob ha-Kohen, for example, Lilith left Adam after she refused to become subservient to him and then would not return to the Garden of Eden after she mated with archangel Samael.

Ziggurat of the insects & Carnival of the daemons: Lamia

Take a needle and stick it into a bug. On your wall beside the other ones it can be placed then and taken a closer look at. After death matters beauty and rarity, not usefulness. The more exotic the better - the prettier shell the more pleasant. The world runs on insects - the ugly ones. The ones who work - worker ants... Big bugs order the little ones around and wear their luxurious shells. They too are ugly nevertheless.
The butterflies, they are pretty! Pretty, pretty useless butterflies...
Yet what matters after death is beauty and rarity, not usefulness.

In ancient Greek mythology, Lamia was a beautiful queen of Libya who became a child-eating daemon. While the word lamia literally means "large shark" in Greek, Aristophanes claimed her name derived from the Greek word for gullet referring to her habit of devouring children. Some accounts say she has a serpent's tail below the waist. This popular description of her is largely due to Lamia, a poem by John Keats published in 1819. Antoninus Liberalis uses Lamia as an alternate name for the serpentine drakaina Sybaris.

Authentication & Interpretation

So much is declared about what poets, writers and artists have said through their work that it matters to almost no one that all this may not be true. We can only do guessing work and nothing else. So why is it that scholars have an obsession with hidden messages? I do believe they are able to analyze these works through a perspective much like the one people used to have in past times, but never ever will their endeavour lead to complete understanding of some dead person's mentality. I'm not saying they are certainly wrong or right. I am saying they should make these declarations seem less fact-like.

Commonly asked is the following question about the nature of the human senses, about perceiving things: "Do we all perceive things the same way?" It all comes down to ones red being the same as an others or flame being what you can call hot. The answer to that is yes. All physical is perceived the same way unless some condition has impaired the receptive ability. It is up to the mind however to interpret the perceived info in a different way and thus it is possible for nonphysical or even physical sentiments to be understood in various ways. It is true, that the generally similarly developed systems of thinking, or brains rather, are likely to deduce quite similar conclusions of poetry or melodies for example. But nevertheless not everybody thinks of red as an aggressive colour or of a dissonance being disturbing.

Gruesome truth & Fashion comes from fairy tales?

Why, oh why can't people make themselves more important than their body is? Is the admission to a seedy little bar, the invitation to a strangers car of so much value? I know it was me who said that looks is important. It is me who makes efforts to draw forth the beauty in all things. But I will never tolerate the bestiality seen in the world today - in the world of sex and erotica.
There is a line, I think, where the beauty of a relationship ends. Where the value, that was once put in a kiss for example, shifts from something grand to nothing important at all. They say that if it's love it does not matter and no harm is done. Well, no one has sex because of love. And love is actually not what I am speaking of anyway. I'm speaking of weak minds giving in to their bodily pleasure and Tarnishing what I consider beautiful.
Mischief, mischief...
A relationship has not to be about love but it can and may be however. A relationship may be twisted. It may be sustained just for the fun of it. Nothing is more interesting than a secret affair or a triangle of passion. But sex? No...
I like games and teasing... elongating the threshold... building up tension. I like Those moments... "Are you ready for the first kiss?... no, not yet... later.. hold on.. all the beauty of waiting...
enjoy it."

I'm curious to know how fashion exists. I understand in a way but... Why does it now somehow seem a good idea to have girls dress up like Peter Pan? Those pantaloons and weird boots are everywhere...

I believe in perfection & Longing

Only fools persuade themselves into believing something untrue, while outside the boundaries of the well-known placebo effect. Thinking yourself cured, when ill, for example is something I bear no dislike for. But believing something blindly, just because I want to, is foolish and thus - I must confess - I am a fool.
I am a fool for I like to think that I can expect great deeds and exceptionally outstanding performance from people I find attractive. In my mind, all the beautiful people that catch my attention are perfect and well thought in all fields. I'm certain they have many talents or one really great one at the least. Beautiful people can surely sing and dance or play music instruments. They are surely interesting writers, poets or artists. They are always well-mannered and prudent...
But In reality only a handful are like that...
Silly me, seeing grand perfection where I want to...
...and growing envious in the process...
...even if all that perfection was made up by myself.

There are many things I haven't done for a while now. Several of them cross my mind from time to time but time in particular is what I lack, and this prevents me from doing what I desire.
When did I last attend a ball? More than a year ago maybe... When did I last paint a picture? Some time ago, for a ballerina... When was the last time I had a performance somewhere with the flute or the piano? Months from now in a theater...
But why is it that flies like to land on mirrors?

You know you want it & How do you do it?

There are many interesting things about people that are usually kept in secrecy. Desires, fetishes, weird addictions and what not. Everyone has several of these but restrains them or denies their existence. But we know they are there. The simple ones like wanting to burn or steal things - pyromania and kleptomania respectively. Or the common ones like wanting to be dominated, raped, bound, hurt or something like that. Then there are those which are a little more extravagant like wanting to drink blood or be nailed to a cross. Religion makes for nice displays from time to time, does it not? Necrophilia is also a fascinating mental disorder... as are many others.
I must say I'm glad that everyone does not live up to their maniac inner selves and stays in the nice boundaries the society has laid down. But some people should nevertheless...
For life would be boring without the mentally ill...

How do you eat an apple?
Do you eat a circle around it and throw away the rest?
Do you eat all of it?
I like to eat mine with a knife. I used to throw them in the air and chop slices which I would then catch and put in my mouth. Oh my, how violent and repulsive...
Now I'm used to cutting them into neat slices, for eating an apple the regular way in public is way too messy and also a quite clear sign of an ill-mannered individual. Well at least if he or she does so in public. In my opinion we should use a clipboard and a knife to prepare the dish which should then be served on a plate... with tea. And eating in public should be generally avoided anyway unless it is done in a well-mannered way in a suitable place. And if you do not have time for that then don't eat until you are out of sight. Men are pigs anyway, but I don't like the sight of women stuffing food in their mouths like they were pigs also. I know my aesthetic opinion does not concern many but nevertheless, overexerting manners has never hurt anyone, has it?

Lambent lights & A short story

How often do we use adjectives used to describe light for describing people also? Bright, warm, dark, cold, shining, lackluster, rich, deep... there are some. I wonder what a lambent person is like. Is he or she ever-changing as are the reflections on a disturbed surface of a pond? Is he or she difficult to look at because of that vibrating personality? Are the people who are difficult to figure out lambent maybe? What about "flashing" or "radiant"?...
I wonder what I could be described with...

Once upon a time there was a pretty girl who lived in a big house. Every evening she'd drink a cup of tea and sing a song before she'd go to bed. Then she'd say: "What a delight, it is night" and gently fall asleep, seeing wondrous things in her dreams.
One day the pretty girl was walking down the street and she spotted a cat in the alley. "Mr. Kitty,"she said, "will you step into the light for me to be seen?" Without a reply the cat did so. "Pretty kitty!" the girl did shout then and the cat followed her home.
That night the pretty girl held her teacup with the pretty cat in her lap whom she'd clad with cat-clothes for the party. It was a tea party notwithstanding the cat in the white shirt did not drink tea. The cat just sat in the pretty girls lap licking his cat-thumb. After tea the pretty girl sang a pretty song for the pretty cat: "Pretty cat, pretty cat." Then she said: "What a delight I found Mr. Cat" and they both fell asleep, seeing wondrous things in their dreams.
The next day the cat and the girl played cheerfully in the garden. Only after Mr. Cat's unexpected sudden death did they stop playing - so cheerful were they. That evening they had a tea party again and the pretty girl sang a lament for the late Mr. Cat before they went to bed. She then said:"What a delight I have my own necrotic cat" and fell asleep, seeing wondrous things in her dreams...

...For Mr. Cat...

Legendary we will be & Aquarium

Which is sweeter - being good at something, more than anyone could have predicted... or being feared for probably being very good at it... even if it remains unproven? Oh, it certainly will not remain that way, that little thing I am talking about, but its irrelevant to the question, so again - which is sweeter?
In the first case you've got the element of surprise, the joy of being suddenly discovered and listening to some compliments from here or there. In the second case there is that "Oh no!" element in the air. People know they can expect great things from you, making likely you won't disappoint them, and your enemies are bound to chew on their fingernails in wild agitation.
Which is sweeter...?

From time far back and before there's been a tune I've listened to and loved. The reason behind it probably the incomparable spookiness and mystical sound of it... Maybe Tšaikovski's "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy"... Yes.. this little piece could be compared to it... But yes, its a widely known piece and often used... often to great effect. I'm of course speaking of "Aquarium" from Camille Saint-Saens' "The carnival of the animals" Truly magnificent and beautiful... maybe tiring if you have danced to it a hundred times but.. beautiful still...

Under my watch & The little betrayer

No beauty is left without gratitude, no melody will sound for the air alone, no grace can escape being noticed and no smile will be forgotten under my watch...
All beauty will be coveted and hated, all melodies judged with acute precision, all grace will be compared to the grace of a feather and all smiles will be smiled in vain under my watch.
I do not care for what is, what was, what will be... close to me... if its not for eternity.
The undying wishes, love and loveliness, the never ending hope that.. there is something, somewhere... that I can crave for, and take with me beyond the river, and be sure it will never disappear...
under my watch.

I am arachnophobic and thus I generally don't like seeing spiders - at all! I sort of like their looks, but they make me alert whenever they are near and usually I end up disposing of them via reflex in an instant. I also do not like running into spiderwebs as well as being smeared with a spiders entrails. So... no spiders for me.
But today I met one spider I sort of liked. I was just leaving my house for town to go see a cat and opened my sunshade to avoid being touched by that bothersome and graceless sunlight. And as I laid it to rest on my shoulder I spotted a tiny green spider hanging in front of me from the very same sunshade I held in my hand. It was just descending slowly from an invisibly fine thread of silk and I thought... "why not?"
Of course the spider was small and it definitely complemented the old-fashioned emerald green sunshade with black lacing I made. Sadly he betrayed me and left with Mrs. Gust of Wind. But if the spider had been any bigger I had just twirled my sunshade around a bit to send Mr. Big Spider flying away myself...

Fascination is the key to great power & Intimidation is the sign of a brave coward

There are a dozen ways to success in any field of expertise and in any of these you can excel at with various combinations of skills or dowry. A good memory will help you remember all the vital details, a knack for quick decision making always keeps you a step ahead, analytical thinking gives you the best of all possible results and willpower keeps you going if situations get dire. But the one value that exceeds all these values and the ones I did not mention is fascination. Being enthusiastic about and developing interest for something is probably the best way to go for many reasons. Firstly it will lead to improved memory capacity and effective use of remembered details. Secondly it will make you want to increase your knowledge-base regarding that field as effectively as it will provide you the necessary experience, which is my third point. There are other reasons and also many other viewpoints to this whole theory. But my main point is not the importance of fascination, which we all know already, but the ability to call it forth when needed.
Can you invoke your interest by mere willpower?

All scholars, law enforcers, late kings of the world and many more are familiar with the basics of intimidation. It is after all a good way to achieve goals and avoid or anticipate unfavorable situations.
Q:Is it cowardly?
A:Yes, definitely.
Q:Why?
A:Because it is the quick and easy route, as opposed to the difficult and slow ones like gaining everybody's favour and they are afraid of failure and loss of time.
Q:Is it better?
A:It depends on the situation, the executors objectives and furthermore - it comes with a catch.
Q:What's the catch?
A:The intimidator will end up with untrustworthy scared subjects and thus become himself a subject to deception and betrayal.
Q:Is it easy to intimidate someone?
A:No, it requires great skill but can be achieved more effortlessly within suitable situations and systems e.g. in a game of chess.
Q:Does one need bravery in order to take such cowardly steps?
