Authentication & Interpretation

So much is declared about what poets, writers and artists have said through their work that it matters to almost no one that all this may not be true. We can only do guessing work and nothing else. So why is it that scholars have an obsession with hidden messages? I do believe they are able to analyze these works through a perspective much like the one people used to have in past times, but never ever will their endeavour lead to complete understanding of some dead person's mentality. I'm not saying they are certainly wrong or right. I am saying they should make these declarations seem less fact-like.

Commonly asked is the following question about the nature of the human senses, about perceiving things: "Do we all perceive things the same way?" It all comes down to ones red being the same as an others or flame being what you can call hot. The answer to that is yes. All physical is perceived the same way unless some condition has impaired the receptive ability. It is up to the mind however to interpret the perceived info in a different way and thus it is possible for nonphysical or even physical sentiments to be understood in various ways. It is true, that the generally similarly developed systems of thinking, or brains rather, are likely to deduce quite similar conclusions of poetry or melodies for example. But nevertheless not everybody thinks of red as an aggressive colour or of a dissonance being disturbing.
