Hold thy tongue & Identity

If you know not what to say...
If you cannot ask for the way...
If you lack the manners...
If you hold not control over your mind...
Thou shalt hold thy tongue at bay!

If you are too smart for your own good...
If your mouth is full of food...
If you lack the intelligence...
If you haven't made up your mind...
Thou shalt hold thy tongue at bay!

If your voice you cannot trust to sound...
If you talk in expletives knowing no bounds...
If you lack the confidence...
If you are out of your mind...
Thou shalt hold thy tongue at bay!

It is often good to not talk at all. After all - speaking is silver and silence is gold (this saying is based on the value of these metals, not on their beauty). Speaking is a necessity however and thus much care should be put in speaking correctly - something I often fail to do. Nevertheless, some rules are to be kept and no way of reasoning should make you think otherwise. Sure, I might not remember the correct words, or I might construct a sentence as it's done in the English language rather than in Estonian. But I always value manners and make silence do the talking. Silence speaks very well on its own.

Who are we and what describes us most? To whom are we ourselves and to whom just parts of the complete picture that is us? Is it the actions we take that build up the very image of ourselves, or the things we say rather? It's both, I know, and much more in addition. But what interests me most at the moment is how 'being' can be a form of art and how this art is made.
It is up to us to choose what we show of ourselves and what we hide. But hiding can be a difficult task in a room with a dozen windows. Moreover, as art is built on equilibrium, it's all too easy to let all that hiding you do throw everything off balance. When you conserve sadness for example you could end up bursting into tears at some point in time. Common, is it not? It may not always be best trying to shape oneself to extreme extents, but what have we to lose?
Nothing, nothing at all...
